- Educate yourself
- Start with our rating guide, a simplified version of the USA Pickleball Assessment system for North America. It outlines what’s expected at the next level and provides you with tips for success. MPC Rating System
- Hit your targets: You’ll need to successfully complete at least 60% of shots in 5 out of 6 skill categories. Time to sharpen those swings!
- Game on: There’s a live-play portion of the evaluation to see how your skills hold up in action. Keep those unforced errors to a minimum to show off your consistency.
- Stay grounded: Advancing to the next level requires preparation and practice. Don’t assume it’ll be a breeze—come ready, and you’ll give yourself the best shot.
- Prepare & Practice
- Speak to your Liaison. Each level of play has a liaison; they are your go-to person for information.
- Rally with friends who can play ball machine, provide tips, or cheerleader—whatever helps you groove those shots. Repetition is key, so serve, smash, and dink to your heart’s content! Practice the specific level up shots from the rating guide.
- If there’s a skill on the rating guide that’s giving you grief, don’t sweat it—call in the pros, contact our resident coach or any coach, a few lessons and targeted drills can make a world of difference.
- Zero in on your trickiest shots. Is your soft drop actually dropping into the kitchen? Are your smashes bouncing off feet (on purpose)? Are your feet helping or hindering your game? Focus where it counts, and you’ll be court-ready in no time
