New Members

During registration, we asked about your Pickleball skills. Based on what you told us, you are either brand new to the game or already feel right at home on the courts. Expand the option that best describes you, to learn what’s coming your way.

  • Are you new to Pickleball and eager to get your paddles up, learn the lingo, and discover the joy of the game? You will be invited to a Learn to Play session that includes:
  • Basic Rules of the Game – Learn why “fun first” is our #1 rule—and why saying “sorry” is a thing.
  • Scoring Made Simple – We’ll help you crack the code on keeping score (yes, it’s confusing at first—we’ve all been there).
  • The Kitchen Explained – It’s not where you make snacks—it’s the no-volley zone, and it’s a game-changer.
  • Safety First – Learn how to play smart, avoid injuries, keep the game friendly, and the importance of “ball in”!
  • Fundamental Skills- Serving into the correct square, returning the ball with control, dinking in the kitchen, and respecting your partner and opponents.
  • An optional Leveling Up evaluation – Turns out you’re not stepping on the court, you’re strutting like a Pickleball powerhouse! You are ready to challenge your Pickleball pals with consistency, power, placement, and control. The kitchen is your domain, and no volleys or smashes are going to scare you. If you wish to schedule a leveling-up evaluation, please contact us at info@meafordpb.ca to initiate the process. To prepare for any Leveling Up Evaluation, we recommend you review and follow our Leveling Up – How to Guide
  • Not ready or simply don’t want an evaluation – you are ready to join any and all of our Recreational sessions. All members are welcome to participate in our Recreational sessions, where the goal is to have fun, make friends, develop their skills, and enjoy the game of Pickleball.
  • More of a player than a newbie – Bypass Learn to Play and go directly to your Welcome Evaluation. A coordinator will contact you to guide you through the process, schedule your evaluation, and answer any questions you may have.  To prepare for any evaluation, we recommend you review and follow our Leveling Up – How to Guide

Whether you’re just unwrapping your paddle or already hooked on the game, we’re thrilled to have you on the courts!
