The Executive Team

A resident of Meaford since 2021, Mike has been a member of MPC since coming across a group of the original members on a sunny evening at the pavilion.

Elizabeth caught the pickleball bug soon after moving to the area in 2019, and by the time she joined the Meaford Pickleball Club in January 2023, there was no turning back.

She loves the club’s welcoming spirit, amazing volunteers, and commitment to making pickleball accessible and affordable for everyone. In April 2026, she joined the Board of Directors as Vice President, where she enjoys helping the club continue to grow.

If you’re looking for Elizabeth, there’s a good chance she’s on the courts—playing, hosting, or finding one more way to make the club even better. She firmly believes that while winning a great rally is fun, building a great pickleball community is even better.

As Director of Communications for our club, Rhona is on a mission to keep members informed, engaged, and occasionally entertained – typos included (they’re part of the charm). A proud local since 2020, she joined the club to learn Pickleball, meet friendly faces, and find a year-round activity that didn’t involve early mornings… though somehow, those sneaked in! Mission accomplished; she’s now joyfully hooked on the game and the vibrant community that rallies around it. Joining the board was her way of giving back, helping out, and putting her pre-retirement skills to good use – because why let all that experience sit idle when there are paddles to swing and emails to send? Every message is brewed with heart, humour, and a generous splash of caffeine. Rhona kindly asks that you read with grace, knowing it’s all for the love of the game—and the wonderful folks who play it.

John has been a resident of Meaford for over 40 years. He volunteered as a coach of minor hockey and fastball. He is also a past president of the MAAA. He explored the world of pickleball in April, 2022 and quickly grew to love it and the comradery of the MPC. John joined the executive in October 2022 bringing his background in accounting, administration and management to the team.

Laureen is the proud mother of four children and four grandchildren. She describes herself as “a little obsessed with her new passion” and is known at home as “Captain Pickles” as family events are planned around her pickleball games. Laureen joined the executive in the spring of 2024 and brings years of experience in fundraising, volunteering, event planning and photography to the team. Her vision is for MPC to build an eight court indoor facility complete with a hot tub and of course a bar.

Sara moved to the Blue Mountain area in 2018. She soon discovered pickleball and quickly grew to love the sport and the amazing people within the MPC. She is passionate about giving back within her community and is involved with helping adults and children with diverse challenges learning to ride horses. In the winter months she teaches individuals to ski through the Ontario Track3 adaptive sports program.

Sara is quoted as saying “It’s a pleasure to be involved with such a dynamic and fun club that is growing in popularity.”
